We have been staying in Spring Ridge Estates for nearly two weeks surrounded by some of the nicest people.  For more than a week, Sam and I have joined the early morning walking group.  They pass by at 7:30 sharp each morning.  We join them for a walk around the neighborhood totaling somewhere between 1.5 and 2 miles.  I know 7:30 sounds early, but you have to remember the sun is up at 4:45 (and it doesn't set until 8:45 giving me some long daylight hours for messing with the coach).  I should probably mention these guys walk rain or shine!

Gary, the developer, has divided the neighborhood into lots from 2 to 20 acres.  Folks have developed their lots with anything from just a basic pad and full hook-ups to complete beautiful houses with a pad or pole barn or garage for their RV.

One day a week, quite a few of the residents gather for breakfast at the Mangy Moose.  With a name like Mangy Moose the food has to be great or else who would ever eat there?  We joined them last week, but forgot to take any pictures.  This week I did better and captured the whole crew.

The Mangy Moose has great food, with portions big enough to feed two.

Rounding out the breakfast group for the morning are (from left to right) Charles and Grace and Judy and Jim.

Below you see Joani had the Denver omelette.  Nearly every meal at the Mangy Moose comes with about a pound of hash browns.  Your choice to have them smothered in gravy or not.

At 4:00 the entire neighborhood gathered at Judy and David's place for the annual "Welcome back to the neighborhood" party, and they graciously invited us.

I thought we had met nearly everyone in the neighborhood, but I was wrong!  It turned out to be the perfect day for an outdoor party.  After several overcast, cool and rainy days, Judy was a little worried about the weather, but it really could not have been better.

The picture below does not adequately convey just how gorgeous this water feature really is.  It is massive.  I would estimate it is nearly 40 feet by 20 feet with a fall of at least 3 feet.  Even more impressive to me was that David built it himself.  Clearly, he has lots of energy to support his highly creative talents.  He also has some of the nicest lawn I have ever seen anywhere.

Inside, the house was beautiful.  What can I say about all of the food except WOW!  There was such a variety and it was all so good.  Of course, I ate way too much.

There was some discussion of tractors and tractor racing.  As you can see that discussion somehow evolved into Jackson bringing his tractor right through the party with a trailer and a chair ready for rides.

If we settle on some property, I will have to have one of these toys. This is what Dave used to build the water feature in the back yard.  Of course, he can move more than rocks.  With his attachments he is able to do all kinds of filling and grading.   He has had his tractor for 25 years and it still looks like new.

We said our goodbyes around 7:30 and walked back to our coach. Thank you again, Judy and David, for a really great afternoon!  The people here are really this neighborhoods best asset, and except for being so far from family, I think we would seriously consider owning property here.
