After a month of having everything close by, it was a little difficult to leave the Provo and Springville area. We needed to get on the road and back to seeing the country.  Next stop was Capitol Reef National Park.  We thought about camping in the park but there were no reservations and a limited number of sites that would accommodate a 40' RV, so Joani found a full hook-up campground just outside of the park in Torrey, UT.

About half of the 167.9 mile trip (70,499.8 total) was on Interstate 15 and half was on small scenic back roads.  Climbing over an 8,600-foot pass on highway 24, I heard the over-temp alarms again and had to stop for a while to let the engine cool off.  I need to learn how to drive a diesel!  The landscape changed drastically as we neared our destination.  It reminded us of Bryce and Zion and Death Valley all rolled into one.

This RV park (Wonderland RV) has an "authentic sheep camp" that you can overnight in.
