Saturday, September 14, 2013, Ducks Game Day, Eugene, OR

We found ourselves in Eugene, OR, on game day. This town really goes crazy for their Ducks.  It was just a quirk of fate that they were playing the University of Tennessee.

Unfortunately for the vendors, everyone was at the game instead of shopping at the Eugene Saturday market. After visiting the Saturday market in Portland, we found this to be a bit lacking.

We walked by Voodoo Donuts and noticed there was not a very long line - that was enough to justify getting a couple doughnuts, wasn't it?

I didn't wear my orange (I have a degree from UT) but there were a few die-hard Tennessee fans who did.

I had the Voodoo Doll - a raspberry filled, chocolate covered doughnut with pretzel pins in it. Joani had the maple glazed bar with bacon (she claimed it was good - I didn't try it).

Since nearly everyone was at the game, we pretty much had the town to ourselves. Up on Skinner's Butte, we saw where everybody was - Autzen Stadium. Sadly, Tennessee did not do well against the Ducks.

We took Sam for an evening stroll down the walkway before bed. Joani caught the last bit of twilight, but the picture doesn't do it justice.
