Sunday, September 15, 2013, Moving Day, Museum of Natural and Cultural History, Eugene, OR

Valley River Center Mall only allowed two nights and we needed an extra night for Sam's vet appointment so we boondocked in the Home Depot parking lot (1045 Green Acres Road) for one more night in Eugene, OR. We had to leave Sam with the veterinarian for his annual check-up, so we looked for something to do while we waited. Joani found the Museum of Natural and Cultural History on the University of Oregon campus. Again, the town appeared to be deserted (we guessed a lot of people slept in or were nursing hangovers), which made it pretty easy to navigate the town.

We were early, so we walked around outside the museum and a bit around the campus.

Walking around the campus, we found this old building that appeared to be in the process of renovation. The campus, like many others, seemed to be an eclectic mix of building styles with green space linking them together.

We could find only two interesting buildings on the entire campus.

Once the museum opened, we learned about Oregon's earliest inhabitants and the geology of the region. We had just enough time to finish the exhibits before we went to pick up Sam from the vet. He was happy to see us, as always!
