Our drive to Detroit Greenfield RV Park in Ypsilanti, MI was 174.4 miles (86,762.0 total). We actually were headed to the Wayne County Fairgrounds and RV Park, but we received a call while we were on the road to tell us they were underwater. Apparently, the reason we missed the rain in Ohio was because it all fell in Michigan.

Joani was able to get us a reservation at Detroit Greenfield RV Park at the last minute. The park was once a KOA that was now privately owned. The new owners were making a lot of upgrades, but not on our site. Site 36 was just an area of grass with an indication on the map showing which way were should face, but it was reasonably level with electricity and water. We opted for 30 amp and no sewer to save a few bucks, but it was still $36/night - oh how we miss the park options in Arizona.

Heading out with Sam for a morning walk I noticed a mother duck sitting very still at the base of the tree below. Later she had abandoned her nest (or was driven away by a rowdy dog) and I saw there was a single egg lying there. A few hours later the egg was gone and I never saw the duck again. I hope she found a more secure place for nesting.
