Tuesday, June 18, 2024, Fantasy RV Tour Orientation

Finally, the first day of our Fantasy RV Tour, Canadian Maritimes, Your Way adventure. We left Mesa, AZ, at the beginning of April to travel to New Brunswick, Canada, for this tour. Even though it was only about 10 weeks ago, we reflected on all the places we stopped and the things we had seen - what a ride!

Almost everyone had arrived for the start of our tour and our first opportunity to all get together was our orientation. Two RVers of our group had some unfortunate issues that delayed their arrival but they made it just after the start of our meeting.

Steve and Jennifer were our "Wagon Masters" leading our tour and Jim and Chris were our "Tailgunners" following the group to assist if anyone encountered a problem traveling. We had a rundown of our schedule, activities, and events that would happen over the next 29 days. The whiteboard in Steve and Jennifer's motorhome windshield would list activities and options for the day ahead.

Each couple was given the microphone to introduce themselves and talk about their history with Fantasy Tours (if any), where they called home, and their camping experience. Of course, Joani let me handle that but it was all good.

Each rig got a numbered sticker on the front and rear identifying them as part of our group. Numbers ran from 1 to 25 so skipping the unlucky number 13 we had 24 units. Each rig had two travelers so our group meetings had 48 in attendance. As I looked around I realized that was a pretty large group.

After orientation, we all headed to the Kennedy Hotel where we had our choice of a steak or lobster roll dinner. I did not take pictures of anyone eating but I did capture Jean and Roger and Butch and Marcia (again from L to R) in the bar beforehand where Joani and I had joined them with some celebratory margaritas of our own.

Today was a nice start to this adventure and we look forward to seeing some of the beauty of the Canadian Maritime Provinces.
