Katie and Mike left around noon. We drove up to Savannah, GA, and walked along River Street for some Christmas Eve shopping.

It was in the low 60s and nice until it started to sprinkle on us - just as the shops were closing and we were leaving.

Sunday, Dec 23, 2012, Mom, Kate and Mike in Downtown Savannah, GA

We spent the day exploring Savannah, GA's, historic district with Mom, Mike and Kate.  Walked from the downtown visitors center to Forsyth Park. We ate at 700 Drayton Restaurant at The Mansion on Forsyth Park, it was great!

Kate and Mike drove over from Atlanta to join us.

In a store window with a 6" wing.  Love the antennae.

A mirrored piece of furniture captured two of my favorite people waiting to be seated for dinner.

Katie and Mike had to head back to Atlanta Christmas Eve, so we opened presents early.

I know it's difficult to see, but our Christmas tree is on the TV inside the Happy Camper with a train going around it and Eeyore looking on. Great evening!

Thursday, Dec 20, 2012, Skidaway Island, Savannah, GA

We finally hit the road! Loaded up in the rain and got underway by 9:30 in the morning. Pulled into Skidaway Island State Park, GA, at around 4 in the afternoon (301 miles). What a beautiful park. The Spanish moss hanging from all the trees gives it a very different feel.

Campsites are very well spaced - our closest neighbor is about 75 feet away. It was in the mid to high 60's. The storm we outran on our way here caught up with us and it rained most of the night.

Sunset on day one.
