Thursday, Mar 14, 2013, Stargazing at Kissimmee Prairie, FL

Did some hiking, photography, trip planning and blogging (Kissimmee Prairie Preserve, FL). Very laid back day. Went out at sunset and saw the comet again but maybe not quite as nice as last night. Jon was having some problems with his autoguider so he could not do any imaging. I did, however, get to see one 300 second frame he took for test purposes. It included a beautiful image of the Horsehead and the Flame Nebula. His 180mm, F2.4 Newtonian with the SBIG ST8300 imager was pretty spectacular. It was definitely on the cool side (cold) - I was only out until 9:30.
