Wednesday, Mar 13, 2013, Sunrise on Kissimmee Prairie Preserve, FL

Watched the sunrise while walking Sam this morning. Later we hiked the Hammock Trail (Kissimmee Prairie Preserve, FL) without Sam (~1 mile - no dogs allowed).

Drove to Okeechobee (35 miles seemed like such a  long drive) for some supplies. Had burgers and fries at 5 Guys. After we got back, we hiked a little more than 2 miles to try and offset the 5 Guys.

South Florida Rat Snake with a bad perm.

Went out at sunset and was finally able to see comet PanSTARRS. It was still a bit obscured by clouds so it was not that great. Could occasionally see it with the naked eye but the binoculars were better. After some practice with the 10x50s, I like them much better. Found M31, M45, M42, the double cluster in Perseus, M35 and a few others. Clear skies meant it cooled off quickly so I was in by 9:30 to warm up.
