Sunday, March 9, 2014, Roaming the Casinos in Las Vegas, NV

Our last night in Las Vegas, NV, we had to be along the strip again to re-visit some of our favorite sites and see others we had missed. I'm not sure what the theme was at the Wynn, but it was bright and colorful.

This night is when I realized that hotel/casino's had personalities. The Wynn had my favorite personality.

The Wynn's personality was artistic - classy, but fun.

Wynn Las Vegas and its sister property Encore Las Vegas collectively hold more Forbes five-star awards than any other resort and casino in the world.

I appreciated the whimsy.

The "Lake of Dreams" at the Wynn was different and difficult to capture in a picture. The lights in the pool slowly moved under the water which was being agitated under a layer of mist. It created kind of a holographic effect as the robotic flowers above danced to music - I know, kinda strange.

There are different shows every half hour. The shows on the hour are bigger and include holographic psychedelic images projected on the waterfall.

I didn't care for Circus, Circus's personality.

Jimmy Buffet's Margaritaville casino had the right idea with the most comfortable Adirondack chairs for relaxing. I probably could have sat there happily for hours, but Joani made me move on.

As you might guess, Buffet's casino had a very laid back personality.

The Flamingo Casino had way too much pink for my taste, but they managed to mask the smell of the live flamingos.

The fountains at Bellagio were our favorite. They always drew huge crowds and never failed to amaze. The fountains, called "extreme shooters," sounded like cannons as they launched water as high as 460 feet into the air. The entire show spanned nearly 1,000 feet across an 8-acre lake. I was constantly swiveling my head to take it all in.

The Fountains at Bellagio are choreographed to 29 different tunes lasting from under 2 to over 5 minutes. At night, they come to life every 15 minutes.

We enjoyed the Bellagio's fountains so much we stood and watched three shows.

The water from the extreme shooters would finally drift our way as a fine mist.

Our last night in Vegas was fun, but it's late. OK boys, take us home!
