A trail led from the Gulpha Gorge Campground in Hot Springs National Park over the ridge to Bathhouse Row in Hot Springs, AR.  It was about two miles each way and we somehow forgot how out of shape we were - we remembered by the time we got back.  There were a lot of hills and several were very steep.

It was a nice hike that got really interesting as we approached the town. We passed an old facility that was about half abandoned and fallen into disrepair.  The signs of once elegant buildings were apparent in the details in the brickwork and trim.

It felt like the last of the path was at least a 40 percent grade down to the Grand Promenade, a beautiful brick walkway on the hill above Bathhouse Row.

The bath houses were each trying to outdo their competition to pull in the customers.  The grandeur of those days was still in evidence as we strolled along Central Avenue.

It was a beautiful sunny day and it would have been nice to explore further, but we had a two-mile hike home and several more days in the area, so we will definitely be back!
