Sunday, April 20, 2014, Move to Manti, UT

After 2 weeks and 4 days, it was time to leave Kanarraville, UT, and head north. We were told about the small town of Manti, UT. It made sense to get closer to Salt Lake City where we would be picking up Katie in a few days in Salt Lake City, UT. The trip was not really long by most people's standards, but then I am a bit spoiled, so the 174.6 miles (7,520.6 trip/67001.7 total) was enough for me even though the scenery was fantastic.

Joani stayed pretty busy snapping pictures through the windshield. Judging from the snow capped mountains all around us as we climbed another 3,000 feet in altitude, I suspect it will be a few more weeks before we see warm weather again.

The geology of Utah was amazing...

...and diverse!  There was a surprise around every corner.

Manti was not much larger than Kanarraville, but it did have a downtown with operating businesses. Still, we drove into Ephraim to shop for groceries (Super Walmart). Our refrigerator was not yet working properly despite more than two weeks of troubleshooting, so we had to think differently about shopping. More non-perishables and blocks of ice to keep the refrigerator cool.

Since it was Easter Sunday, I thought a splurge would be appropriate as you can see below.
