We enjoyed breakfast at the Rusty Tractor in Elma, WA, with Debbie and Craig (thank-you again for that!) As you might expect, we talked long enough that we had to rush a bit to make our check-out time, but it was worth it!
We drove north on US-101 which followed the coastline closely (maybe too closely) in some places.
It worked out fine since there was very little traffic and I could take the curves slow enough to make me comfortable. It took us about 3.5 hours for the 135.7 miles (3,860.5 trip/63,341.6 total) trip to Salt Creek RV Park. It is about 8 miles west of Port Angeles and about 2 miles from the Strait of Juan de Fuca. As soon as we were settled in, we drove to Salt Creek Recreation Area on the water and got our first glimpse of Canada.
Canada was close enough to cause our phones to say "welcome to Canada".
(We immediately turned them off to avoid roaming charges!)
We are excited about the rugged coastline because of the picture opportunities (I don't think we will be doing any swimming!).
It's hard to capture just how big trees are around here!
