This morning we walked into town - probably less than half a mile. Pismo Beach, CA, is such a pretty little town. We were told it is very crowded in the summer, but this late in the year there were few people and with the perfect weather, it was great.
We smelled the cinnamon a block away before we reached the shop, so it was pretty easy to talk ourselves into a bit of indulgence with some fresh cinnamon rolls. They were loaded with icing, so we knew it was not health food, but every once in a while it's OK, right? We ate them on the boardwalk while we watched the morning surfers ride the waves,
Later we took a stroll south along the beach. Our park is adjacent to a state park, so there were miles of open beaches to the south to explore. Beautiful tide pools and colorful beach plants were everywhere.
Later, we walked across the street to Maggie and Jim's beautiful 2011 model fifth wheel Montana with all of the amenities. It is no wonder they love to visit the beach! Jim grilled a nice pork loin and Maggie made her special "dirty rice" with lots of bacon. Nice mixed vegetables and Hawaiian bread rounded out a terrific dinner. Later Jan and Larry, and Drew Lynn and Lindel joined us for some pleasant conversation while Maggie served us all delicious carrot cake with cream cheese icing and ice cream.
