Friday, December 13, 2013, Move to Indio, CA

Another short trip, 86.9 miles (6,113.5 trip/65,594.6 total), to Indian Waters RV Resort in Indio, CA. Along I-10 we passed through a valley where the Santa Anna winds blow pretty regularly, so there were a few wind turbines to take advantage of the natural resource. They had to number in the thousands and most of them were spinning - California must have a surplus of electricity - right?

We were very pleasantly surprised by the RV park! Our site included a level concrete pad for the coach and a concrete drive for the toad and a patio for all the chairs. We are surrounded by nice grass and next to a quiet residential neighborhood. Our coach is pointed directly northeast which we have decided is the optimum heading based on sunshine and our window arrangement. The resort has planned activities throughout the week, two pools and a large jacuzzi all within 75 yards of our site.

I went to the clubhouse for their "Happy Hour and Jam Session." Even though it had cooled off a bit they had a lot of propane heaters scattered around to keep it warm. The "Jam Session" was just a couple of guys playing an electric keyboard and a bass guitar with some singing. It might be the wine talking but I thought it was all good fun!
