Saturday, December 21, 2013, College of the Desert Street Fair, Palm Springs, CA

In one last attempt to find the perfect Christmas presents, we visited the College of the Desert street fair. It was really more of a flea market than a craft fair and we came away empty handed.

Not far from the College of the Desert is Palm Springs version of Rodeo Drive, El Paseo. Lots of artwork has been placed along the street between buildings. We liked this sculpture where the little boy at the base of the work is imagining himself flying on the paper plane he is folding.

As we walked through the large open-air shopping mall, we noticed a lot of people walking their dogs. An unusual number of people. Then we noticed a line and saw the dogs were waiting to have their picture taken in Santa's lap! I'm sure Santa is a pet lover and it was probably pretty easy to remember everyone's Christmas list; bone, chew toy, big bone, frisbee. . .

Waiting patiently to mark Santa's lap.

Merry Christmas - One and All!!!
