Another short drive south of Lincoln City took us to Fogarty Creek State Park.  It was right along the inland side of highway 101.  It seemed to be quite popular with a sizable gathering of people.

I saw a lot of people combing through the rocks.  I finally asked one nice lady what we were looking for and she explained it was all about hunting agates.  Once she showed me what they looked like I caught the fever.  Soon I had Joani and Katie looking for them as well.  We probably spent an hour sitting on the wet sand to find our small cache of "gems".  Now I look for agates every time I'm walking along the beach.
