Monday, July 22, 2013, Move to Boise, ID

We had to say good-bye to Arco, ID, but not before one last big breakfast at the campground cafe. I added a large orange juice, sausage and hash browns to my two free eggs, pancakes and hot chocolate. I didn't include a picture because it would have just been embarrassing. That kind of overeating will have to stop!

Today's trip to Idaho's capital, Boise, was not bad (195.5 miles, 3,133.8 trip/62,614.9 total). It felt a bit odd when we got on Interstate highway by Mountain Home, ID, for the last 40 miles of the trip. We had not been on anything except two-lane back roads since Bozeman, MT, (although I must confess, most of them were pretty nice back roads.)

We passed miles and miles of old lava fields.

Our campsite is about 50 feet from a very nice greenway along the Boise River. I will have to get the bicycle out to work off some of those Arco breakfasts. Being in a big city again we are close to everything. We located the closest Walmart (< 1 mile), the Costco and PetSmart for Sam stuff. Joani has found several interesting things we will be visiting while we are here - it looks like a nice place to stay for a while!

Dusk down by the Boise River.

This 10-pound cutie does not look wild to me.
He had no fear of Sam and was hanging around the horse stalls by the greenway next to the river.
