We knew we had missed Grand Prismatic Spring and we couldn't let that happen. So, we made it a priority on our last day at Yellowstone National Park. We realized we had missed it because the Midway Geyser Basin was too crowded to visit previously. We made it our first stop for the day. It was truly amazing! The pictures you usually see of the spring are from the air and they are beautiful - we couldn't see it from that perspective. What you see from the boardwalk is still fantastic. The steam rising from the pool appeared to be blue. I assume the color of the water, the size of the pool and the lighting combined to create the effect. Joani used her camera's panoramic mode to create this fantastic picture.

We visited Old Faithful again and had lunch in the lodge. We were treated to a view of the famous geyser through a large picture window as we had ice cream and lasagna (yes, in that order).
